Mecer 650VA Line Interactive UPS (ME-650-VU)

The Mecer 650VA Line Interactive UPS (ME-650-VU) is a compact and reliable uninterruptible power supply designed to provide backup power and protection for computers, networking equipment, point-of-sale systems, CCTV equipment and other essential electronics. With a 650VA / 360W capacity, it is well suited to home offices, small businesses and individual workstations requiring protection against power interruptions and voltage fluctuations.

The ME-650-VU uses line-interactive UPS technology with built-in Automatic Voltage Regulation (AVR). The boost-and-buck AVR function helps stabilize incoming voltage by correcting moderate under-voltage and over-voltage conditions without unnecessarily switching to battery power. This can help reduce battery usage and maintain a more stable power supply for connected equipment.

When operating on battery power, the UPS produces a simulated sine-wave output. This waveform is suitable for many standard electronic devices, including desktop computers, routers, POS equipment, CCTV systems and other non-critical loads.

The UPS has a typical transfer time of 2–6 milliseconds, with a maximum specified transfer time of approximately 10 milliseconds. This allows the UPS to quickly switch connected equipment to battery power when utility power is interrupted.

The Mecer ME-650-VU is equipped with one 12V/7Ah sealed lead-acid battery. Its typical recharge time is approximately 4–6 hours to reach 90% capacity, allowing the UPS to restore its battery after an outage and prepare for subsequent power interruptions.

A cold-start function allows the UPS to be switched on and provide battery power even when utility electricity is unavailable. The unit also supports automatic restart, allowing it to resume operation when AC power is restored. An off-mode charging function allows the battery to continue charging even when the UPS itself is switched off.

For added protection, the ME-650-VU incorporates safeguards against overload, over-discharge and overcharge conditions. These features help protect both the UPS and connected equipment from potentially damaging electrical conditions.

The UPS can also support an optional USB/RS-232 communication port, allowing compatible computers and systems to communicate with the UPS for monitoring and management.
